We will also introduce new board members and recognize those stepping down. Find out what’s new for the upcoming events and highlights of our quarterly themes, new meeting formats, and special events!

    Part 2 – Learn!

The second half of our meeting will be a structured knowledge share led by local experts from the local ATD Detroit community. You will have an opportunity to exchange information, knowledge and questions with other members and guests in 3 of the topic areas that cover “The Modern Learner and Empower U.” You will be participating in each "exchange" for about 25 minutes, and then rotating to the next topic of your choice.

    ATD Detroit 2019 January WEBINAR

"Putting Learners in the Driver’s Seat: Improve Business Outcomes by Supporting Employee Development"

    Presented by:

    Presenters:

Kiara Graham, Learning Strategy Consultant, D2L

David Horne, Director Enterprise Solutions Engineering, D2L

    Program Summary

The world of work is undergoing transformative change. Skill gaps, lost organizational knowledge and experience from retiring baby boomers, digital disruption, and changing employee expectations mean that organizations need to rethink and reinvent how they approach learning and development to stay competitive in today’s market. Technology has empowered employees to take learning into their own hands and they increasingly expect their employers to enable continuous self-directed learning and development as a core part of the workplace experience. Investing in modern learning enables positive business outcomes and helps organizations stay ahead of the curve when faced with rapid, transformative change.

In this webcast, you’ll learn how to:

    • Attract and retain talent by shifting to a learner-centric development model
    • Improve employee performance and engagement by enabling continuous learning
    • Create leadership pipelines through self-directed learning paths
