GDASTD October Meeting

You’ll feel the electricity!
This Greater Detroit ASTD Speed Networking event is an opportunity for you to meet more people than you would using traditional networking in the same amount of time.
It is a fast-paced event ,so here is a quick rundown of the plays:
Participants will be split into two groups and seated at tables in pairs facing each other. The person sitting across from you is your first partner.
When the whistle blows, one person in each pair will have two minutes to talk. When you hear a short burst from the whistle, you will switch speaking “positions” with your partner. At four minutes, we will blow the whistle again and you’ll have one minute to wrap up, get up, and get ready for the next play.
Here’s some coaching to help you get your game on!
- Polish up your elevator speech.
- Be prepared with questions.
- Take notes.
- Bring a stack of good old-fashioned paper business cards.
There will be 12 five-minute rotations with a 10-minute break at halftime.
We will have a referee on the field to make sure the game moves along. You don’t want to be called for blocking when it is time to move to the next seat. After the game is over ,there will be time to reconnect with those you met and meet a few more.
So start your training now and join us on Tuesday, October 14th.
And remember, we’re going to just go out there and have some fun!
GDASTD CONFIRMATION/CANCELLATION POLICY:
Registrations are not considered definite or confirmed until payment has been submitted. Cancellations will be accepted until 5:00pm on Thursday, October 9th. Cancellations received prior to this time/date can be 1) refunded to the credit card less a $5 processing fee or 2)transferred to the next scheduled GDASTD meeting date.
Refunds after this date cannot be issued, but we will gladly accept a substitution should you wish to send someone in your place.
