Premier Networking & Learning!

"Driving Innovation Through Talent Development"

Keynote Speaker

Tony Bingham

President & CEO

ATD

Afternoon Keynote Summary

Senior leaders and talent development professionals overwhelmingly agree that innovation is a top priority and essential for success. Yet very few are satisfied with the level of innovation happening in their organizations.

ATD’s research on the role of training to build innovative organizations shows that innovative organizations share these traits: an innovative and committed executive team, being good at implementing change, being effective at cross functional teamwork, and having a published innovation strategy. And while our research shows a direct link between innovation and organizational success, the reverse is not always true: successful organizations are not necessarily innovative.

As the demand for training on teamwork, communication skills, leadership, and change management continues, programs on innovative thinking or managing innovative teams are in the least demand and rarely offered to staff. So how can an organization change its approach to think and operate more innovatively? How can the talent development function play a key role in driving innovative thinking and practices?

In this session you will hear about organizations that have made innovation a top priority, are embracing it as part of their talent development strategy, and are driving more innovation through organizational culture, change management, and teamwork.

Plus Bonus Morning Session!
"Networking to Your Advantage - Rules & Tools Workshop"
presented by:
Larry Gelfund
Principal
Laredo Learning LLC

In today’s business environment, becoming an expert at networking and making “connections” has become a critical skill for success. Look at how social media has exploded in connecting people and information in the last five years alone. Advancement in technology has had a tremendous impact on how we gather information and learn. But there is still great value in business networking and building relationships you can leverage to meet your goals at work.

This workshop will emphasize and focus on the “science” of how to prepare for and use networking to your advantage. Success factors and critical concepts of “before, during and after,” “giving it your all” and “perception is reality” will be presented. You will develop and learn takeaway tools that will work for you.

This ATD premiere event is promoted as a collaboration of 7 Midwest ATD chapters, Detroit and Ann Arbor SHRM, Detroit ISPI, local and state colleges and university educators and students and local industry businesses. Scheduled time to openly network with this diverse group and practice some of the tools you learn will be scheduled into the workshop. What a great opportunity to "connect" to your advantage!
