ATD Detroit July 30th Webinar

The Future of Work (Part 2): Design Thinking and the Evolution of L&D

Thursday, July 30, 2020, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

Webinar Description:

In the first webinar of this series, Keith Keating, Senior Director of Global Learning Strategies, explored the types of skills and knowledge relevant for the L&D practitioner in the current and future work environment.
Empathy, Creativity, and Problem-Solving are three of the top skills identified by the World Economic Forum for the future of work.

Design Thinking, a practical method to create human-centered solutions, is also comprised of these three critical skills and should be an integral part of any L&D specialist’s toolkit to generate learning-centric experiences, products, and processes. Keith had also shared with us in the past a practical application of design thinking using one of his projects for GM as a case study.

During this session, Keith will provide a deeper look into the principles of Design Thinking in an easy-to-understand format. Using practical examples and stories, this session will provide participants with a solid foundational understanding of Design Thinking and ideas for ways it can be applied within L&D organizations.

Learning Objectives:

  • The value of Design Thinking and why more companies aren’t using it
  • Practical Design Thinking stories from Fortune 500 companies
  • The top 5 Design Thinking best practices for you to drive business results
  • 5 ideas for applying Design Thinking in L&D
