Session Description

After working as an instructional designer I started to see a pattern. Email communications didn't work and training was only effective about 20% of the time. I was tired of getting blamed for creating "bad training." That's when I stumbled on the Influencer Model (AKA: Gilbert's Six Box) and hackathons. Applying those tools dramatically improved the effectiveness of all my efforts. Learn how to apply these two tools to create raving fans who always need your performance improvement skills. 

After this session, attendees will be able to:

• Define and describe the similarities and differences between instructional design and performance consulting
• Review the Influencer Model and Gilbert’s Six Box
• Apply the Influencer Model and Gilbert’s Six Box to hackathons

Facilitator

Matthew Papp, M.Ed. has over 20 years of instructional design and development experience in both ILT and eLearning deliverables. Because of his effective performance solutions he has chosen to design, develop, and launch Leader College. Most recently he was selected to design, develop, and lead an internal educational program called Digital Academy where enrollment is options. Matthew employed the Influencer Model, Gilbert's Six Box and hackathons to craft solutions that unleash peak performance. The consulting firm Gartner says market penetration for an optional program like this should be about 5%. Matthew and his team are seeing over 11% market penetration as a result of these tools.
