Program Summary:

Do you remember the last time you were on a job search?

What would have to occur to drive someone to this decision? Why do new employees leave their companies?

Is it because their employer is not paying them enough money?

Nope ...

Approximately 89% of managers believe that employees leave their jobs for more money. However, in reality, approximately 88% of employee’s left their jobs for reasons other than money (William, 2003). Wow, what a significant disparity.

It makes you wonder …

  • Did the managers even engage their employees in a conversation?
  • How do you explain this type of disconnect?
  • What are the REAL reasons new employees leave?
  • What do new employees need to be successful?

What can your organization do to support new talent development through onboarding?

We will explore the answers to these questions and take a look at an onboarding model that can help ensure your new employees' success!

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, learners will be able to:

  •  Identify why new employees “bail out.”
  • Apply a comprehensive onboarding model to support new employee development and long-term success.
  • Articulate the implications of “learning” versus “performance.”
  • Recognize common mistakes and pitfalls with onboarding new employees.
