Content Development Specialist - Sun Communities

The Content Development Specialist writes and designs content, materials, tools, and other learning resources that support Suns systems, initiatives, and business processes.

***This position has the option to work remotely.***

Duties 

  1. Utilizes both company objectives and target audience needs to develop easy-to-understand, user-friendly training resources
  2. Applies changing business needs and requirements to analyze and update existing content and develop new content
  3. Creates new content, rewrites existing content, or edits and proofreads content
  4. Develops and maintains documentation for various company systems, processes and procedures in Suns Knowledge Base
  5. Develops e-learning resources
  6. Uncovers and documents requirements for processes and procedures in order to develop learning resources
  7. Identifies target audiences
  8. Recommends appropriate solutions for the needs of a given process or procedure, or in order to effectively manage process/procedure changes and/or new systems
  9. Provides support on development, integration, and testing within online learning platforms
  10. Applies adult learning principles as appropriate, defines and develops training objectives, and designs effective assessments
  11. Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Communication, HR, or related field (Required)
  • 1 year experience writing, proofreading, and updating policies and procedures
  • 1 year experience creating, designing and developing learning materials
  • 6 months experience with online learning and related software (Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, PhotoShop)
  • 6 months basic HTML coding experience
  • 6 months graphic or multimedia design experience
  • 6 months familiarity with Learning Management Systems
  • 6 months fluency in written Spanish
  • Excellent computer proficiency including the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), email and internet
  • Excellent command of written English
  • Strong attention to detail, customer service, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborate team with diverse groups/audiences, including those in remote locations
  • Work independently or with subject matter experts to design, develop and maintain training resources
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong time management skills to set and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and improve processes
