With leader and senior team member assistance, a designer at Credit Acceptance designs and develops events and tools including but not limited to instructor guides, PowerPoint slides and participant workbooks for instructor-led courses; storyboards for web-based courses; video scripts; and training evaluation instruments (Levels 1-3).

Outcomes and Activities:

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an office location may be required.  However, this position is permitted to work at an office location if requested by the team member.
  • Applies ADDIE model
  • Validates understanding of performance objectives for training via shadowing, interviewing SMEs, and reviewing current documentation or reporting
  • Provides clear expectations to sponsors, SMEs and other stakeholders; including start-of-work (‘project kick-off’) sessions, material review meetings, working sessions and project status updates
  • Manages project expectations and schedule through creation of design document and project deliverable tracking file
  • Produces training deliverables aligned with performance objectives and customer expectations
  • Makes design and content changes to existing deliverables based on best practices and industry standards to improve training effectiveness
  • Shadows business units on a regular basis via observation, interview, and/or other methods, gathers information about the performance support and/or training need
  • Creates and maintains file structure throughout the project
  • Facilitates file submissions to the Document Management Process including required revisions
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of instructional design and performance management principles
  • Able to recognize and communicate training and non-training performance opportunities
  • Adept at working within constraints including but not limited to aggressive deadlines, changing requirements and limited resource availability
  • Self-driven, motivated to help, and able to perform with supervision in a team environment
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in both spoken and written formats
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design or related fields
  • 1+ years’ experience with content design and development
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, SnagIt or comparable programs
  • Proven success serving multiple clients and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience designing job specific training
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience designing self-paced online training solutions, not limited to systems training
  • Experience conducting needs analysis
  • Experience creating effective evaluation models
  • Experience with Audacity, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, UPerform or comparable programs

Targeted Compensation: $65,000.00 - $80,375.00 base salary + an annual bonus plan
