Session Description

For many of you, developing others is your passion but in doing so, your own progression in your role and in your career may be unclear, has stalled, or is non-existent. ATD recently released the new Talent Development Capability Model in an interactive model you can use to assess your place against industry-researched and accepted knowledge and skills to help determine where you need to go and how to get there. It’s the gap assessment, personalized learning plan, and tracker-- all rolled into one tool that helps to clear your path and motivate you toward your professional development goals. Everyone has their own career aspirations—more responsibility, more money, more expertise. The free interactive model can help marry the aspirations with where you are now to help you achieve your own professional development goals.

Learning Objectives

After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how societal forces and business changes are requiring professionals to adopt new approaches and upgrade skills to keep pace.
  • Apply the common language from a network of global practitioners to their own experiences and informal/formal education to assess and compare strengths and weaknesses that will become a factor in achieving their own career aspirations.
  • Build a learning plan for a sample practitioner and in doing so, gain the ability to apply their own gap assessment results and aspirations into generating their own plan.

Facilitator

As a self-professed Jill-of-all-trades, Holly Batts has a passion for helping people and programs succeed. Her professional background has been primarily in the non-profit sector, with over half of her experience in developing and maintaining certification programs. She is currently Associate Director of Credentialing with ATD’s Certification Institute and besides being the point person for the day-to-day operations for ATD’s two talent development certifications, she has embraced her role as accidental trainer with increased responsibilities of on-boarding new staff, selecting and training subject matter experts for test development, and sharing the importance of lifelong learning. Holly has an MS in organizational leadership, as well as the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Association Executive (CAE) certifications. Her professional development goal for 2021 is to earn the ATD Master Trainer credential.
